Maya Bay: This is the island's most famous attraction—a breathtaking, ring-shaped bay surrounded by towering vertical limestone cliffs and powdery white sand. It gained global fame after serving as the primary filming location for the 2000 movie The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Due to environmental damage from overtourism in the past, Thai authorities strictly regulate visitor numbers and boat anchoring to protect its recovering coral reefs.
Please note: Maya Bay is closed from August 1 to September 30 every year.
Viking Cave: Located at the base of a cliff on the eastern side of the island, this cave features ancient wall paintings of various boats (including European and Chinese sailing ships). It is also a site where locals harvest swiftlet bird nests, which are used to make traditional bird's nest soup.
